JLG 1250AJP: what it is for

The JLG 1250AJP is the largest articulating boom in the Ultra Boom range: 40.30 m working height, 19.25 m horizontal outreach and dual capacity of 230 kg unrestricted or 450 kg restricted.

It reaches up and over obstacles up to 18.44 m high and places the platform with the 2.44 m articulating jib, which also swings sideways (JibPLUS®, 125°). It is the machine for large industrial structures, power plants, bridges and very tall façades, where you need to climb and reach round at the same time.

4WD, four-wheel, two-wheel and crab steer, extendable axles (2.49 m retracted, 3.81 m extended), 45% gradeability and a Deutz TCD 2.9 L4 55 kW Stage V engine.

Transport and use

Transport: 19,958 kg and 14.48 m long stowed (11.46 m with the jib folded sideways), 3.05 m high: plant lorry transport, with the axles retracted (2.49 m wide).

Where it works: outdoors on site terrain (4WD, 45% gradeability). To work at height it extends its axles to 3.81 m: allow for that width on site. Maximum ground pressure 7.03 kg/cm²: check the ground bearing capacity.

Operator: The operator must be properly trained to use mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs): the employer is required to ensure this (Decree-Law 50/2005). The IPAF/PAL card is the most widely recognised training.

Inspections: Like any work equipment that lifts people, it needs mandatory periodic inspections (DL 50/2005), in addition to the manufacturer's preventive maintenance.
